Listen to what others have to say about previous Walking Bass 101 Course (the first 8 lessons of which were a condensed version of the workbook)

Well, again Paul, your WB 101 is THE BEST course of instruction out there, for all the reasons I wrote to you in previous emails. The other books out there are really too short and try to take the student too far too fast. What is really needed is your course of 30 lessons with LOTS of written instruction and a clear guided path to follow through each lesson.
Stay well and keep going in your instruction! Thanks again for being the best instructor for bass that meets my needs for learning it.

Mauro Caputi, USA

Your Lessons are FAR more intensive and detailed than anything else I’ve seen out there, and I have over 18 different books on this! You provide every step along the way, complete with a Composition and Video. Not just one example that’s too difficult to play at first, even at slow tempos. You start with roots, then build up one teeny tiny step at a time!!! AND you have all the detailed teaching text to go with the music. That’s so important to have that because that’s you there, with me here, in written form. I read the text hearing your voice and my bass teacher is here with me!

This far surpasses EF’s WB Bootcamp. And all other stuff I’ve seen. It’s the microscopic steps that are the key! I spent 4 months diligently practicing Todd Johnson’s  “Walking Bass Line Module System, Vol 1″ and actually ended up still not being able to play WB spontaneously through tunes at proper tempo. It was always just far too much to learn and put into practice all at once, with quarter notes. I’ve seen half notes, dotted half note plus quarter note, half note + 2 quarter notes, in other places (not many), but you have brought ALL of this together in one progressivetiny step by tiny step system, applied to two songs, then a new case study with each lesson.

All this plus Deliberate Practice and Deliberate Composition!

In my opinion, after careful examination of a large number of books and instruction, your WB 101 is THE BEST program out there. 30 Lessons will take me through more than 60 weeks to do it all, every step. Awesome!

“The first time through this course taught me more than I had learned in all the years leading up to it – what a great course.

I have since branched out to include the Cello in my repertoire (what band wouldn’t want a Cello to sit in…?), and even though the techniques of mastering a fretless bow driven instrument are very different, the concept of deliberate practice has been paying off.”

Michael Hadley, USA
